About Crondall Stepping Stones

Crondall Stepping Stones is a community pre-school that aims to provide the very best in care and education for children aged between 2 years 6 months and 5 years.

The pre-school, established in September 2002, offers daily morning sessions during term time from 9.15am to 12.15pm/1.15pm.

The Old Gymnasium where Stepping Stones is situated, has recently been refurbished to a very high standard, giving the children and staff a safe, light and spacious environment in which to play.

Our recent, very positive OFSTED report includes comments such as, "Children make very good progress in personal, social and emotional development" and "All children are happy and enjoy activities provided".

Our aims are: to enhance the development and education of children under school age, in a parent-involving, community-based group; to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment; to work within a framework which ensures equality of opportunity for all children and families and to provide a sound foundation which will encourage the children to approach their academic years with enthusiasm.

Within the group all children are supported in developing their potential at their own pace. Our key worker system enables us to ensure a planned curriculum tailored to the needs of each individual child. By means of developmentally appropriate play activities and a high level of individual adult input, we offer a curriculum that enables children to progress towards the early learning goals throughout the Foundations Stage and prepares them for the National Curriculum that begins at Year 1 in primary school.
